It’s All About Babies!

I’m soooooo bored today; work is dragging like u wouldn’t believe.  I have stuff to do but I’m just sooo hot and bothered that I can’t be arsed!!!  I can think of a 1001 things I would rather be doing and none of them involve being anywhere near work!

After work I have a man coming to my house to give me a quote on 3 roller blinds for my bedrooms.  I need blackout blinds because of the baby so that would mean having one in the nursery and one in our room so I thought whilst we were paying to have them fitted we may as well get them in all 3 bedrooms cos eventually baby will move into the middle bedroom.

Tuesday night Kristy picked me up and we headed off to hers for a cuppa before we went to meet Ally.  When we got to Kristy’s, Abigail commenced her system of giving me the baby’s’ presents (she informed me in the car that she had a surprise for me at her home but then said ‘well it’s not for you, it’s for the baby’…  How cute).  Anyway the present were unveiled and ADORABLE is the only word appropriate and Kristy really has spoilt little baby Hough…  The first gift was 2 Jasper Conran Sleep suits, 1 blue, and 1 white both with a vehicle theme… ie:  Plane, tractor, car.  And the second was a Rocha John Rocha, Organic Cotton snow suit that is to die for!!!  It has little rabbits on the feet with ears and everything.  Just gorgeous, and she got the little hats to match!!!  This is defo gonna be Baby Hough’s coming home outfit I think cos it is perfect for our little winter baby!

On to Ally’s House…  It’s LUSH!!!!  The street is lovely, the house is perfect, the plot is FANTASTIC (best on the street) and her neighbours seem really friendly too…  She’s on to a winner with it I think!!!  It’s just fab!  Can’t wait till she moves in now so we can see the inside.

After Allys I went home and took my new lil car for a spin…  And for everyone’s info my new car is named Albert.  So we now own, Albert the Saxo and Charlotte the Starlet!  Albert is fab and is gonna be perfect for me during my Mat leave (not nearly as cool as Charlotte though).  When I return to work we will then sell both Cars and are looking at getting an Astra GSI Turbo…  Watch this space.

Last night I sorted the nursery out and moved all the baby things like sterilisers into the middle room in prep for baby arriving, I hung all his clothes up and inspected the new bedding.  The bedding is lovely and I’m really happy with our choice.  I have laid it on the cot bed to try and get some of the creases out but I’m not actually making it up yet as it will all need washing up ready first.

Today was my allocated day to view the next sale. I always get a VIP invite to their sale and this enables you to pick a time slot to go online and shop before the sale has officially started.   So 11 – 11.30am was my allocated time today and in that time I managed to order 25 items that came to the grand total of £122.50.  All of this bar 1 item is all for baby.  I’ve ordered an array of clothes ranging from new born to 6 months so hopefully I will like it all when it arrives and baby will have some lush clothes!

Boys, Boys, Boys…

Well I’m back…  Had last week off work and started back yesterday!!!  I have officially decided work sucks ass and I can’t wait for my Maternity leave to start!!  Not long now, bout 12 weeks or so!

Let me tell you bout my week (I have a shite memory so tend to forget lots):

Monday was FAB!  We had out 20 week scan and wow!!!  Matt was so over whelmed at seeing his baby for the first time, it was such a lovely special moment I felt and I really can’t put it into words!!!  Turns out this is going to be quite a stubborn baby, the whole point of this scan is to check everything is just so and that every thing is growing as it should and that there are no abnormalities so this means that the radiographer has to have a good look at the spine..  Well baby decided different and was laid fully on it’s back so we ended up being at the hospital for 3 and a half hours and kept having to go for walks so baby would turn so they could look at the spine… after the 3rd attempt there had been slight movement and they managed to get a good look at the spine!!!  Anyway all is well and no concerns at all!!!!

And… the news we were all waiting for….  IT’S A BOY!!!!!  Yay!!!  Well chuffed about this and so pleased we found out, defo made it feel much more real and so nice to be able to by lil boy’s clothes for our little boy!!!  Think he is going to be a little footballer cos he certainly likes to give me a kick!

Hope you like the pics anyway…

Spent a fortune on baby clothes this week and also paid the majority off our Travel System, ordered our lush maxicosi car seat. Bought our cot, bought a decent mattress, ordered the bedding, got the Monitor and generally spoilt this little baby!!!! This is gonna be one spoilt child as Ally has already got him a present that is adorable and Kristy has got him some present s too… see, spoilt and not even born yet!!!

Our rest of the week was spent relaxing and taking it easy, shopping, eating out, bit more shopping, hospital appointments and also a trip to the Sea Side!!!  We went to Skegness on Tuesday and the weather was lovely, we even caught the sun!  We spent the day walking and playing crazy golf and of course having a visit to the arcades!

Tues evening we went to the Talbot for Ally’s Birthday… Had a lovely evening and we had a good old giggle and celebrated her B/Day with pink balloons and banners on the tables…  Hope u liked it hunnie (the balloons tasted yukky)!

Weekend was pretty miserable for me as my IBS took attack like I’ve never quite felt… to the point of not being able to walk!!!  Boo!!!!  Only just picked up really!  It’s awful to suffer tummy pains when pregnant though cos I don’t know about anybody else but I just go into panic mode.

Last night Matt and I built the cot and it’s so lovely, I can’t wait for the bedding I ordered to come from Next today so I can see it all together, it’s gonna look sooo nice!!!!

Tonight I’m off to See Ally’s new house with Ally (obviously), Kristy and Abigail and I sooo can’t wait!!!!  I think I’m almost as excited as Ally!!!!  I know how lovely it is getting ur own home and I know she is going to love it!!!  Just can’t wait to see it when she’s in!!!

Also tonight I’m going to pick up my new car!!!  Yay!!!  My cousin is having a new car so I have bought her old car off her; it’s a 51 plate Saxo and its lovely…  Gonna be ideal for me and baby to go shopping in!!!!  Ha ha!!!  Matt’s also well chuffed cos I guess it means the Starlet is officially is…  Even though I did buy her and my name is on the log book!!!! Charlotte the Starlet will always be my baby!!!

Think that’s it for today…  Plenty to go at there and my brain has gone and can’t think of anything else to tell you!!!!

The Weekend is Almost Here

Gees today is dragging, maybe it’s cos I break up today for a whole week!!!  How cool is that.  Matt is off to so it’s gonna be so nice.  We have our scan on Monday and we have an appointment with the Consultant on Thursday so the rest of the week is ours.  Think Friday we are going to go away, possibly for a couple of days if the weather is any good that is!  If not we may just go to Dakota for the night.  I priced Alton Towers Hotel up with a day pass for the water park but it was gonna cost £176 for 1 night!!! Ridiculous!!

Last night was pretty chilled, Matt came in from work and we nipped to see Barbars (my step Nanna) as I had some baby things delivered so was a nice chance to get to see her.  I had ordered a steriliser set and a rocking Moses basket stand and they were both reduced from Babies R Us so was well impressed with these lil purchases.  The steriliser is MEGA!!!

After the visiting we them went to the Vanish for our tea because even though we have a freezer full of food there was NOTHING that I fancied!  Tea was lush anyway and it’s always nice to not have to clean up isn’t it?

Tonight I doubt I will be doing much at all cos Matt is gonna be at work till at least 7.30pm, which was not initially planned.  The painters where he works are behind so that means that all Matt’s jobs are awaiting paint so he was left this morning with nothing to do… In his job time is money and as long he is stood doing nothing he earns no bonus.  So he went home and went back at 2 so this means he will be finishing at 7.30 rather than the 4pm he was meant to be!

Tomorrow I think I may be going to Meadow Hall with my mum as she casually dropped this in to conversation this morning but you never know with my mum… She’ll change her mind a million times before tomorrow.  Tomorrow night we are seeing Jamie & Kelly at either ours or theirs (not sure yet) so that will be nice! We always have a laugh there.

Sunday we are gonna go out for dinner and that’s about it I think!!!  This is all obviously gonna fit around Matt being at work and Football!

I may be quiet next week depending on if I get time to blog!   XxX

Do I Still Have Any Readers?

Well it’s been a bloody while hasn’t it???  I’m afraid I have no excuses or attempts to excuse my lack of blogging… just sheer idleness!  So please forgive me!  Wonder if anyone actually still reads this… I hope so!

So my life as far as I can remember since my last blog goes like this:

 Pregnancy

I’m now 19 weeks and 5 days pregnant and I’m finally feeling my baby move around, I can’t really explain the sensation, kinda like a little nervous twinge crossed with someone tapping on the inside of me.  I’m sure I felt it last week sometime but obviously I have never had a baby before so couldn’t actually be 100% sure that it was baby moving that I could feel.  I’m defo sure now though, most certainly today, defo felt some movements today and what a lovely feeling. We have our 20 week scan on Monday and I can’t wait!!!  I know Matt is so looking forward to it too as it will be the first time he gets to see his baby.

As you probably know we had pretty much said from day one that we wouldn’t be finding out the sex but Matt decided to tell me in conversation on Monday that he would like to know, mainly for the reason that he doesn’t like referring to our baby as ‘it’.  Anyway, after much thinking and debating this I decided that I really want Matt to be in a position of decision making because as a father he gets very little involvement in the pregnancy, i.e.:  I feel all the movements, he has to wait a good few weeks till he can feel baby too so I kinda feel poor dad to be’s get a little left out.  Sooo, this I the reason I have been seriously thinking about it as I don’t want to come with a firm NO attitude, like I say he is as entitled to decisions as much me.  I also had a conversation with a nurse who works with my mum this morning and she has a little girl and said it was one of the best days ever finding out what her baby was, snot for the practicality of it, but for her and her partners bonding and the overwhelming connection she felt once she knew, she got so emotional telling me this morning that she really got me thinking.  Finding out would be SO special and wouldn’t ruin the surprise (as people say)  because you still have the anticipation of meeting your baby and seeing what he/she looks like and I really like the thoughts of bonding with my unborn child and definitely think this will be much easier knowing what it is.

Anyway, I told Matt that I would be happy to find out if that’s what he truly wanted and I would leave the decision with him…  so after a little chat about it we have decided that yes we will find out (if it plays ball and doesn’t cross it’s legs – lol)!!!  So hopefully I may have news for you all on Monday… If you want to know that is.

House

Going back to when we moved into our house, you will be fully aware of all the problems we had with one thing and another, as a result of many complaint letters, Rippon Homes said they would pay our first months gas & electricity bills as a gesture of good will.  I don’t get my bill monthly as it comes quarterly so as soon as this arrives I forwarded this to Rippon expecting a part payment of our combined bill and got a cheque through the door for the full amount of almost 6 months worth of Gas & Electricity…  £200!!!  Bonus!  We have already paid the bill as we pay by Direct Debit so this is a nice little bit of extra cash for us and we are both off work next week so think this will come in handy for a touch of spoiling!

Work

Work is pretty much same old, same old, apart from the fact that Dawn has left so I’m utterly miserable now, she was my ill ray of sunshine that kept me sane and smiling and at least I had someone I could talk to easily and we both shared the same sense of humour so had a blast some days!!!!  Come Back Dawn! Like I said though, Matt and I are both off all week next week and I’m so pleased.  I’m desperate for a week away from this place. Then….  I only have a bout 14 weeks left at work then I’m off for a whole year on Maternity Leave!!!  Awesome!

General

Life in general has been pretty steady, lots of chilling as I’m still getting vary tired very easily!!  Been nice to just relax though and spend some time with Matt.  Last night we went to see Shrek the Third; this is a good film but not my fave of the 3 films.  It’s defo worth a watch as its very easy watching!  Been doing a touch of internet shopping this week as there are 1 or 2 excellent sales on at the mo…  Also got some fab offers on a steriliser box set and a rocking Moses basket stand that has been delivered today!

Anyway, think that should have kept you going for a while!!!  Sorry it’s been such a long time and once again I promise to revert back to my old blogging self!!!
