Feeling Sad…
Wednesday is here and I’m feelin low. I don’t know why but I feel really sad today, did last night too. I got in from work last night and Matt went out to football and I just cried… didn’t make me feel much better but all the same I cried. Think maybe it’s a combination of things, I feel exhausted at the moment and I have all the shit with the house still, work is pants and I just feel really wound up about wedding stuff… ALREADY!!! That’s just not right, the thing is I think basically for the last 12 months I’ve just had shit after shit after shit dealt to me in one way or another, the only good thing to come out of it is Matt and some ace new friends I have. On that note I’m now feeling that maybe we shouldn’t rush into the wedding, since Matt and I have been together we have had expense after expense so up to yet not really had chance to enjoy our money, it’s always been tied up in something else. Sooo… what do we do, do we enjoy our money for a while, go on holiday and chill out and stuff cos we haven’t had a holiday together yet, not even a weekend away, then maybe think about seriously saving next year with the possibility of a wedding the year after or do we just go with our plans as they are and save every last penny we have at the mo for the wedding and have no treats for the next 18 months?
I just feel that everything we have been through cos Matt has never had a peachy life by any means… We should perhaps just enjoy ourselves a little. We have committed our money to house savings for the last 8 months then it’s gonna be weddings… so what do we do?!?!?!? Thing is I just can’t wait till the day that me and Matt are husband and wife and I know he feels the same!!!!! My head hurts from thinking!!!!
Other than me crying last night we went to view Cuckney Cricket Club which was lovely and we did like it but we are thinking maybe it was a touch too small, they did do a larger room but they didn’t seem to keen on having a wedding breakfast there, they were more eager for us to just hire the hall for the night time party with a buffet. We also nipped to the Talbot for a swift one, I wanted to go see Ally and she soo wanted to see my ring! She sent us a lovely pink glittery card too!!! Didn’t stay long cos we were starving but all the same it was nice to see everyone and get a hug from Ally & Jay!
Tonight Matt is going round to Jamie’s for a Fifa night so I’m home alone but I have a feeling my mum may come and visit me and I could do with nipping to Asda/Tesco so maybe we could have a mother/daughter trip and Nanna too!!!
Got the gym straight after work today with Kristy and I’m looking forward to that, I’m gonna try and do more cardio today as I really want to loose some weight, we have longer there tonight too so I should get plenty of cardio and weights done!

Disappointed :o(
Well we went to view Portland Hall last night and were very disappointed!! As we walked in we were greeted by the owners dogs which I thought portrayed a very unprofessional image and the smell of the place just hit you… It was built about a millions years ago and god u could smell it… It smelt really old and fusty and not at all pleasant, not the kind of pong I want greeting my guests on our wedding day! The interior was very tired looking and is desperate for a full refurb… a slap of paint will not sort it!! It needs carpets the lot. I hated the room where the civil ceremony is held it looked nice for 1960 not 2007!!! Just couldn’t picture myself ever getting married in there. The room where u get married is also where the disco is held and it looks like it can hold about 50 people at the max certainly not the amount they claim! AND…. The meal is £18.95 per head which to me doesn’t go hand in hand with the quality of the premises; also they provide
Asti for the toasts which they charge £12 per bottle for, this is £5 in Asda! Hmmmmm!!! Generally not impressed!!!!
So clearly this is eliminated from our selection!!!! I had also enquired about Cuckney Cricket Club who have got back to me today and they have offered us a viewing for that tonight, that’s all been done up and basically they hire you the place and u sort the rest so that could work out better!!!
Had a rubbish nights sleep last night, I was awake every couple of hours, think I have too much on my mind. Still having probs with the house which I am still battling with Rippon to get stuff sorted, had another visit from one of the managers yesterday so hopefully they will start and pull their finger out. Still not enjoying work very much so think that is on my mind and then the wedding!! So I have a pretty full head at the mo!!!
Other than that, I have decided that I need to share my adoration for Peter Crouch!!! I know people will think I’m mad – Especially Ally!!!! But I really really like him!!! I think he is an ace footballer and although I hate to admit it… after half a shandy I probably would!!!! Think he qualifies as one of my shouldn’t but woulds!!!!
Broody Don’t Quite Cover It
Matt’s sister finally delivered her baby on Saturday night…. A gorgeous little girl called Lucy…. Awwwww. Now I’m so excited to go to Ipswich on Friday to see them… One problem though, I am THE broodiest person in the world, I have been broody since I was about 5 and a whole weekend of a new baby will send me over the edge… not only that, she also has a daughter called Megan who is just 1 and she also makes me broody!!!

Had a pretty good weekend, not much to report really. Got up early Saturday and went into town with my mum and Nanna, bought some new face powder and mascara from No 7 at boots and spent £18 so qualified for this lush free gift!
Me, Matt, Jamie & Kelly went to Ikea on Saturday afternoon, me and Matt got a lush unit thing for the living room to put the lamp on and we got a blind for the kitchen and a new one for the bathroom (I don’t like the one we originally out up) so we had a successful shopping trip. Afterwards we went to Jamie and Kelly and Jamie cooked our tea for us… Pizza & Chips. We then had a drop of Alcohol and played Buzz – Jungle Madness on the PS2 and we all love this came… it’s so funny!!!! Very predictable results though… Either Matt or Kel wins and me or Jamie loose. Good fun though.
Yesterday Matt and I were gonna go and watch the Talbot play football, this is Matt’s team but he got a red card the other week so has had a 2 week ban, it was a semi final I think so he really wanted to go. I got up and ready reluctantly as standing on a muddy field for 90 mins watching Sunday League football really isn’t my thing!!! Anyway… Game was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch or something so we went to town for breakfast and then baby clothes shopping for Lucy… We also got Meg a little pressie too!
On the way home we decided we would drive and have a little look at Portland Hall as a possible Wedding Venue…. And….. It was lovely!!! The grounds were stunning and we both really liked it and Matt got quite excited about it so this is currently top of our list for venues. We popped in and had a little chat to the lady who owns it and she was sooo nice. She has recently taken over the hall and moved there is September 07 so it is currently being ‘done up’. They offer a very flexible service and basically are willing to cater to your every need and to your budget; they are not pushy and only provide what u want. The lady has also been a wedding organiser for 8 years so she really seemed to know what she was talking about. We were so impressed in fact that we are now really pondering on the thoughts of a civil ceremony there… The room where you actually get married looks gorgeous so we need to be making a decision before Wednesday as if we decide on the church we have to go on Wednesday and pay our deposit!!! Decisions, Decisions. We are going to Portland Hall tonight for a proper sit down, a good look around and talk with the lady so we can see if they will fully cater to our needs… SO…. Should be good and I’ll keep you updated.
Can’t be arsed with work today, although I am finishing at 1.30pm for Physio so can’t complain!! Hopefully me and Kristy gonna be hitting the gym hard this week as we went Fri and I really enjoyed it, I woke up feeling a tad stiff on Sat so that made me feel dead chuffed and like I had achieved something so I now can’t wait for the next session!!!

Bills, Bills, Bills
How lovely of Bolsover Council to send me a Council Tax bill for £190.99 through the post yesterday!! Was well pissed off about this!! Normally you don’t pay council tax in Feb & March as u only pay over a 10 month period. Me and Matt were fully paid up in the apartment so weren’t actually expecting to pay any council tax now until April… NOT the case, because we have changed council from
Mansfield to Bolsover we have to pay… Boo! We have paid the £190.99 today so now we won’t make a payment until the end of April so not too bad I guess and I had already budgeted for it coming out this month. Also in the apartment we were only paying Band A council tax and our new house has been banded at B so that equals more money to fork out every month… YAY!!!
That does make me sound rather negative about the whole house and bill thing but I’m not really, it is expensive to run a house, I don’t deny that but it is worth it… Luckily enough Matt earns a good bonus most months too so we can still have a decent life and not resent the house for taking ALL our pennies…. Does that make sense?
So tonight – Off to the gym it is!! I have brought my gym clothes to work and Kristy is picking me up outside my office so we can tootle straight to the gym!! So gonna hit it hard tonight, gonna pump some iron and everything!!! As of today I am gonna try and be a little more healthy too, I’m back into drinking my 2 litres of water a day and so far today I have been happily nibbling on my seeds, drinking my water and dandelion tea and had a lil tuna cob for lunch with some quavers, a tropical crunch yog (low fat) and a banana… that is pretty good for me!!! Normally had at least one bit of choc by now!
Not much planned for the weekend, going to Ikea tomorrow (which is open till 10) with Jamie & Kelly then they have invited us round for tea so that will be nice. Other than that don’t think we have much planned… to be honest we never really plan much but always end up doing something! I really wanna go to the cinema and watch ‘Music and Lyrics’. Might see if Matt wants to go tonight actually!!!!

Pay Day
Well it’s finally Matt’s payday today… YAY!!! We were so ready this month! We seem to have had so many big things to pay for:
- Aerial – £140
- Carpets – £ Almost £2000
- Apartment Bills – Almost £300
- Solicitors – £400
- Birthdays – £200 ish
- Celebrations for Birthdays & Engagements – £100ish
- Stuff for House – £ God Knows
And of course the rest of the bills that come with having a house!!! All mounts up don’t it!! Think we have got pretty quiet month money wise no major things to buy or pay for, just want a couple more things for the house then we’ll be cool. We have started a savings account from this month for the wedding so hopefully every month we will have extra left to add to what is gonna be paid into the saving by direct debit anyway.. Every Little Helps!!! Maybe I could set up some kinda thing on EBay where people can donate money to my wedding fund!!
Had pretty quiet night last night, we went straight to my step Nannas from work then went home for tea. We got a DVD but it was very slow so we turned it off and put 50 First Dates on… think this is one of my favourite films ever as I can just watch it over and over again…. LOVE IT!
Tonight Matt has got football …. AGAIN!!! He has been Sunday, Tuesday, going tonight and then Sunday again… think he addicted… suppose it keeps him fit! He is playing with Jamie tonight so I am gonna go round and have a cuppa with Kel so that’ll be nice. He aint playing till 8 either so we should be able to go get some shopping done.
I’m still waiting on brochures from quite a few Wedding Reception Venues, I’ve had brochures from places like Clumber Park Hotel and Renaissance Hotel but they are WELL expensive. Very VERY nice but a bit out of our budget. Ordered loads more so watch this space.

So So Sleepy
Oh I’m so glad we half way through the week, after my 3 weeks off work this first week back is tiring me out. I had an early last night and slept so well until I was woken by the birds tweeting at 6.15am this morning. Can’t complain about that, gotta be better than when we were at the apartment and the only thing that woke us up there was the noise of cars going in and out the car park.
Last night I went straight to mums after work for pancakes… Yum… Only had 3 but they were all covered in scrummy choc sauce! Matt went off to football so my bro took me home about 7 so I did a touch of cleaning then got my pj’s on and watched telly. I watched you are what you eat and this programme always makes me wanna get healthy, I always think the healthy food looks so much tastier then the shit we eat on a daily basis! Problem is it all takes so much preparing and stuff and I just don’t have the time, I always cook when I get in from work but you don’t wanna be spending hours cooking when u have been at work all day do u? Not that I eat majorly unhealthily but I’m not the healthiest eater in the world… I’m better than I used to be anyway! Hopefully I’m gonna be starting up the gym again this week with Kristy (as recommended by my physio) so hopefully I will start to get fitter!!! Need to be thinking about the figure now I have a wedding to think about!
Been thinking about my hair too… I think when I get married I will have it down as I believe when you get married you should try and be yourself as much as possible and not look too over the top with the hair and make up… BUT….. Do I grow my hair or just keep it pretty much the length it is? My thinking behind this is that if I decide I want it long for the wedding then I ought to start growing it now cos it’s gonna take time… It aint gonna grow over night now is it?!?!?!?!? What d’ya think?
Finally seem to be getting things sorted at home, Matt spoke to the builders this morning and they are getting an independent plumber in this morning to try and figure out why the showers are so shit so hopefully he might get it sorted… fingers crossed anyway! Got Castle Carpets coming out on Tuesday to replace the carpet at the top of my stairs that the dehumidifier ruined so then once the ceilings are painted, other than a few little things, majority of things should be done… it’s been sooooo nice to finally start and enjoy the house a little bit. Gotta get a blind for the kitchen and I don’t really like the one I put up in the bathroom so gonna get a different one for there too… Think we are off to Ikea on Monday to get them then we are pretty much sorted.

My Engagement Ring
Well first things first… thought 1 or 2 of u may want a little peep at my engagement ring!!!! Isn’t it just beautiful?????? It’s even more lush in real life!!
Been looking at venues for the wedding reception and I really am struggling, we have got to do this wedding on a budget cos we are paying but Is till want it to be pretty special… ya know what I mean? I’m not talking a castle or anything over the top like that but I do want something a little more than the local welfare if u get me!!! I have got the dress I want in mind but it looks well expensive, it has swarvski (not a clue how to spell that) crystals on it, it’s so beautiful!!!!!
Its day 2 at work and so far so good… I’ve moved desks today so I’m now nicely tucked away in the corner and I’m sat across from Dawn so bonus!!! Got Amy Winehouse playing in the back ground so feeling pretty cool so far!!!
Its Pancake Day today… YAY!!! Just rang my mum and booked us in after work for some of her yummy pancakes…mmmmm mmmmm!!! Bless my mum, she is fab ya know!!! She is of work at the mo with a broken foot but she is still gonna make pancakes, how awesome of her!
Tonight I think Laura is coming round, although she was a tad ill on Sunday, hope you feeling better hun! Think Ally is coming too so kinda a little girly night going on.
I had an ace nights sleep last night other than the fact that I literally felt like I had 10 mins sleep when the alarm went off this morning, I swear I could of stayed there all day, funny how when u are off work you’re up at the crack of dawn!!
Had my Physio yesterday, we determined that the damage is mainly to my back, top and mid back, he bloody killed me. He gave me some exercises to do and I have to go back next week. Touch wood I’m gonna be fixed soon.
Got the 2nd and 5th of March off work. Matt’s sister who lives in Ipswich is having a baby and it was due on 15th Feb but she still hasn’t it but we are going down to see her so that will be nice!!! I do love babies!!! She already has a 1 year old so she is gonna have her work cut out for her! Her husband is in the Army too and is going to Afghanistan in May for about 8 months I think.
Oooooo, I know what I need to blog, Ally got me a plant as my moving in present, it is a spider plant and I have called him Harold!! So far I am doing a fine job of looking after him, he’s still alive anyway!!!! I’ll get pics for you!!!! Think that is it for now!!!! Chao Chao XxX
Back to Work
Well it’s my first day back at work today and I must say I am quite glad to be back, there is only so much day time telly you can take. I came back to a lovely engagement card on my desk too so it’s all gravy!
Not much to inform so far with regards to work although I did have 330 emails to work my way through this morning! JOY, half of them were crap from stupid companies too… lots of funnies to be working my way through though.
Booked the church yesterday for our wedding, September 6th 2008 is the date, it also happens to my mums 50th that day so I thought that was quite lovely! Got to be thinking about where we want the reception though… Any ideas greatly received!
Last night Jamie and Kelly came round to mine and Matts. Matt and Jamie played Fifa all night but that was cool cos me and Kel happily talked about weddings and looked at wedding magazines and stuff.
Tomorrow night Laura is coming round and possibly Ally so I’m looking forward to that!
I’m off for Physio at 2.15pm so better get a bit more work done!!!

Just a Quickie
Just thought I’d do a quick blog seeing as though I have managed to grab some internet access.. even though it is on a laptop that is making me a dyslexic (had to ask to spell that word) speller! Think the wine may be adding to this! I do apolgise for not blogging quite as regular just lately, not been at work so had very limited access!
Anywho…. I’m just at Kristys and having an ace night - wine, nibbles and girly chatter (inc lots of wedding talk)… what more can I ask for?????
Back to work Monday… JOY! Kristy not there though but u better email me girl! Not looking forward to going back but never mind!
Not really got much else to talk about seeing as though my mind seems to be taken over with all things wedding orientated and I don’t wanna bore some of you with that!!
